“I blame my parents! I was always singing somewhere: A wedding, a funeral, a church service.
My sisters and brother and I couldn’t get away from it. I almost began to hate it, if I’m honest. But as I got older, I fell in love with, not the response of people, but the sweet presence of God. I couldn’t look at the crowd anyway.
I had stage fright. I would sing with my eyes closed. I think I still do!
